Self Love 7/12/05

Love of self is a necessity
Without it happy we can never be.
A life of discontent we'd lead
For happiness we could only plead.

Love of self is not automatic
Sometimes it's only spasmatic
It takes time and it takes practice
To really know what love of self is.

It's not just liking the way we look
It goes much deeper
We need to see ourselves like an open book
Sometimes we see things we do not like
Parts of us we may wish would take a hike.

But self-love means we understand
What it takes for us to on our two feet land.
It means we see the way we are
And what we need to go really far.

It means that we are number one
Though just to us not to everyone
We put ourself first in many ways
In all we do throughout the day.

Even when we're doing for others
We shouldn't do if it seems like a bother.
This message I know off the topic has strayed
But for all who read it I hope a thought is laid.
